This shelving and storage system was designed for a couple that had spent their early careers working as designers in Finland. The couple have a large collection of Scandinavian designed home furnishings and wanted a storage system that was appropriately scaled for a loft space with high ceilings, exposed wood structure and mechanical systems.

The shelving and storage system is 18” deep and 10’-0” tall meaning that the system needed to be factory fabricated, brought to the site in pieces, and assembled in place around an existing fireplace. The project ended up as a hybrid shop-built, site assembled, custom shelving and storage system.

The overall aesthetic was meant to be quiet, Scandinavian, modern, and more about highlighting the items being displayed, than highlighting the shelving system.
